Future Guided Thanks to Orton's Sponsorship

A German Shepherd has become our namesake thanks to our recent support to Guide Dogs for the Blind.

The Orton Group team is thrilled to have continued supporting the charity, which was one of the five charities we pledged to raise £5,000 for as part of our 25th anniversary in 2017. The dog, ‘Orton’, is a German Shepherd and was born in 2018.

Andrew Lowe, Managing Director of Orton Group, explained: “Giving back is something that’s really important to all of us, and Guide Dogs for the Blind is a cause close to our hearts. We’re really humbled by the fact that Orton will play a pivotal role in helping to improve someone’s quality of life and recommend the Name a Puppy scheme to anyone.”

Andy Farrell, Community Engagement Officer at Guide Dogs for the Blind’s Shropshire, Staffordshire & Black Country regions, explained: “Orton’s involvement in our Name a Puppy Scheme really is fantastic and their support has already seen the pup embark on an amazing journey, which will culminate in changing someone’s life. A Guide Dog can literally be a lifeline for a person living with sight loss, and it’s estimated that by 2050 the Visually Impaired population will have increased to four million, so support like this is crucial.

“The Name a Puppy Scheme ensures that we can continue catering for the ever-growing demand, and I’d welcome any individuals or businesses interested in naming a puppy to email us directly on nameapuppy@guidedogs.org.uk for more information.”
