Stephen Joins the Group

We’re delighted to welcome Stephen Ives as our Health & Safety Manager – a role which will see him drive forward the business in-line with ever-changing legislative requirements, and devise a strategic forward-thinking approach within the Group.

Stephen is a Chartered Fellow of the Institute of Occupational Safety and Health and has over 30 years’ experience working in the construction, rail and engineering sectors.

Andrew Lowe, Managing Director of Orton Group, explained: “We’re delighted to welcome Stephen to the team – he’s a proven health and safety professional with an impressive career to-date and with his expertise and industry knowledge specifically suited to Orton Group, we’re able to enhance our internal health and safety practices as well as the standard of service that we provide to our clients.

“Health and safety has always been an integral aspect of what we offer our clients, and having Stephen on board will help us to strengthen our reputation as well as develop strategies which align with the objectives of the Group and those of our clients.”

Undertaking regular inspections at client sites across the UK, encompassing the social housing, domestic new build, rail, and industrial and commercial sectors, Stephen will also work with the site management teams and senior management team to enhance the company health and safety management system and safety behaviours.

In addition, he will be responsible for conducting company audits, reviewing project contracts for health and safety matters, as well as act as the main point of contact for all employees who require senior-level advice and guidance.

Stephen added: “I’m delighted to have joined Orton Group as Health & Safety Manager. As a growing family-run firm that’s competing on the national stage, it’s an exciting move which will see me utilise my expertise in the field to implement a leading health and safety strategy which not only meets and exceeds customer demands now, but which continues to do so in the future.

“Orton Group works as an extension of its own customers’ teams, and with the health and safety arena being one of the most stringent, my role was very much designed to ensure the company meets regulatory requirements and the ever-growing and evolving expectations of our customers.”
