Orton Scoops Second Awards Shortlisting

The team at Orton Group is celebrating after being shortlisted not once, but twice, in a prestigious national awards scheme.

We’ve been announced as a finalist in the Electrical Industry Awards 2018, in the coveted Contractor of the Year (Over £5million) Award, and the Electrical Project of the Year category for our biggest project completed to date at Penzance Depot.

“After winning the Contractor of the Year Award in 2017, we’re thrilled to have been shortlisted for a second time,” explained Andrew Lowe, Managing Director of the Orton Group. “I launched the business as a sole-trader in 1991 and we now employ over 100 staff and over 100 contractors, working with large national companies and on hugely complex projects.

“Penzance Depot was a £5million project involving some hugely complex works electrically and due to the already stringent working timeframe being brought forward by 12 weeks, we had to really come together as a team and with our partners to ensure our work was delivered on time and on budget.

“This project was the biggest work that we’ve ever done as an organisation, so to be shortlisted in this way is justified recognition enough of the team’s hard work and dedication over the last 18 months.”

The Electrical Industry Awards 2018 take place on 25th October at the Royal Garden Hotel, London, where over 450 finalists and guests will come together to celebrate the best in the industry.

Orton Group prides itself on delivering electrical and mechanical solutions to its diverse range of clients in the construction and homebuilding, industrial, and rail infrastructure sectors across the Midlands and beyond.
